For the coolest and brightest sneakerheads, shoes aren’t just commodities or status symbols.
On October 28, at The Atrium of Makati, Shoephoric celebrated six years in the game with All Soles Day, a two-day competition which culminated in a photo competition and exhibit. A two-month contest took place, whittling down 913 entries from around the world to a select handful of winners. Rainier Philippe A. Crescini won the Brand Favorite award, Jon Lupague won the Member’s Choice award through online voting, and John Delano Santos was made the Grand Winner. The exhibit itself though displayed the works of 20 finalists.
During the All Sole’s Day party, the latest creations by PONY, Sperry, Saucony Originals PH and ASICS TIGER were on display. There were also giveaways of products by a whole myriad of suave streetwear brands, such as Thief Cartel, Sole City, SIC Shirts, and Diamond Sneaks. You can expect the tradition next year, with another earnest celebration of shoes and streetwear as significant symbols of beauty and culture.
