Congratulations, you made it to 2019! Now what?

If you’re anything like me, getting through the mess of a year that was 2018 wasn’t easy. We needed to learn a lot about taking care of ourselves and honestly, we’re all just really happy to be here. But the beginning of a new year calls for a new perspective. If you’re not keen on themes and resolutions, no need to look further than the 2019 color of the year to help you put your best face forward.

Pantone 16-1546 is giving us the Living Coral energy we all need to kick off 2019. Described as a “coral hue with a golden undertone,” Living Coral exudes a spirit of both ambition and ease. It actually makes for a pretty solid life motto for the year. But if that’s too much of a commitment to make for now, this refreshing shade also makes for the perfect color to experiment with on your home decor, wardrobe and — yes — even on your face. Did you know that peachy color correctors help remove the dark circles from under your eyes? Adding a little flush on your cheeks also makes you look more refreshed than usual. The perfect MLBB (that’s “my lips but better”) can actually be a coral shade but if you feel like experimenting, then a swipe of Living Coral on your eyelids can really make a statement.

Here are four playful yet achievable beauty looks to help you channel your alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic energy for 2019.

Fluffmatte in milkshake and Glowboss in femme, Sunnies Face; White oxford button-down, Uniqlo.
Fluffmatte in hot sauce mixed with vacay and Glowboss in hey girl, Sunnies Face; Colourtint in poppy mixed with Coloursnap in milk, Colourette.
Coloursnap in milk and Colourtint in pipper and poppy, Colourette; Red dungarees and pink tank top, Bench.
Fluffmatte in nudist and Glowboss in hey girl mixed with mamacita for the eyes, Sunnies Face; Colourtint in poppy, Colourette.
