Saved You A Google: streetwear collaborations

Hello there, streetwear enthusiast! You may be overwhelmed by all the drops in the past few weeks. Fear not, for we rounded up some of the major ones to wrap up the month. Check them out below!

Adidas x Hender Scheme

The Japanese based artisan footwear brand took on the three stripes in an application of Hender Scheme’s signature, vegetable-tanned leather treatment on three silhouettes. Adidas offered up its NMD, MicroPacer and Superstar to the vachetta look that had Hender Scheme making rounds in 2013 with its takes on the Air Force 1 and Vans Eras.

The luxurious revamps done on the three silhouettes were hand-crafted in Tokyo. Aside from incorporating the pastel beige associated with vachetta, the Boost midsole of the NMD is replaced with a nail-on midsole. The NMD, MicroPacer and Superstar collabs are set to retail at $1000, $950 and $900 respectively.

 

UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Max 97

Twenty years after its initial release, we are witnessing the wave of resurgence of the Air Max 97, both in its OG and Ultra update. The retro silhouette has returned for the many Air Max purists, but the Ultra caters to those looking for a tasteful addition of tech and comfort to the already iconic shoe.

Nike is pairing up with Undefeated in releasing three new colorways of the Air Max 97 OG. The first to be released was a sleek, all-black leather look with side panels reminiscent of Gucci’s red and green stripes. Two more colorways are dropping, with sail/white, and militia green/orange blaze/metallic silver variants. The AMs drop this September and October.

 

Yohji Yamamoto x New Era

Dropping in the form of two bombers, a hoodie, t-shirt and a wool cap is an all black everything collaboration between renowned designer Yohji Yamamoto and athleisure clothing brand New Era. The casual and simple essentials produced by the joint effort distance themselves from Yohji’s usual work. We’ve come to expect long, draped, gothic looks from his personal brand, and hyper-futuristic, athletic pieces from his Y-3 Adidas line.

Printed on the back of the nylon bombers is a sketch of Yohji walking a dog in his signature wide-brimmed hat and long coat. The cap, shirt and hoodie all feature the Yohji Yamamoto signature but reversed; the cap has the words stitched on tonally. Of course, no New Era cap would be complete without the 9FIFTY sticker attached to the brim.
