These are our September style and beauty resolutions

Hint: they involve a trip to the salon, copping comfy heels, and unicorn-inspired makeup looks.

The ninth month is famous for ushering in the new year of style and beauty — fresh collections come out, trends are visually announced, and sartorial changes are made.

In our case, it’s the perfect time to start making changes of our own; whether it’s a new choice of shoe or an entire new makeup regimen. Style and beauty resolutions are great because they can be superficial, low-commitment but yield major results. (This is totally why most of us get haircuts when we’re going through something weird in our lives. That chop-chop feeling is so cathartic.) So if you’re in need of some change, why not start here? Here we present: the solutions to your September resolutions.

Wax on, wax off: Getting your legs waxed is super easy at a one-stop place like Hey Sugar.

Resolution No. 1: Getting pampered shouldn’t take time — I want a one-stop place to look good.
We’ve always loved how our moms and titas have their suki places to get their beauty maintenance done — there’s always that one place for their hair, nails and regular dose of chikahan. With our beauty regimens expanding more than ever before, it’s impossible to have the same faves all in one place. In the beauty and wellness section of Robinson’s Galleria, you won’t need to go far to keep your hair, nails and brows in check. Might we suggest this little scavenger hunt: get your haircut and hair treatments at Vivere Salon, which is right across from Hey Sugar, a waxing place that can do either cold wax or hot wax treatments. (We recommend hot waxing.) A few steps takes you to Ooh La Lash, where you can either get eyelash extensions, brow threading, or even an eyelash perm. (The perm takes awhile, so we suggest you prepare your earphones and a long playlist.) Finish it all off with a luxurious mani-pedi at Nailaholics, which we guarantee will put you to sleep, in the best possible way.

Vivere Salon, Hey Sugar, Ooh La Lash, and Nailahaolics are all located in Robinsons Galleria and other branches nationwide.

Nice to matte you: Happy Skin’s collaboration with Kathryn Bernardo includes a morena-friendly line of  matte lipstick and mascara.

Resolution No. 2: That no-makeup makeup look? Time to achieve it.
Effortless beauty shouldn’t make you work too hard — just a few simple steps can actually turn a bare face into “my face, but better.” Consider actress and teen queen Kathryn Bernardo’s new collection with Generation Happy Skin: it’s a warm, skintone-friendly makeup collection that aims to flatter your natural looks. (We’re particularly smitten with the Water Lip & Cheek Tint. So versatile, you can even use it as eyeshadow.) Nothing in the Kathryn x Happy Skin collection is above P500, and everything comes in delicious pastel packaging. Our hot tip: you’ll want to carry a clear beauty bag just so everyone can see how cute your makeup looks.

Resolution No. 3: Heels look great, but I want a comfier alternative to cute shoes.
There is no better way to treat yourself than to invest in a good pair of shoes. Women’s shoes can be notoriously brutal on the feet, but there are still options where you get to look cute while giving those stompers a bit of love, too. Melissa Shoes, for one, places a lot of importance on those two things: namely style and comfort. The brand’s latest Style Maven, photographer Shaira Luna, loves how everything from Melissa is “comfortable and squishy” (We feel you, girl). This is true for their wide range of styles — from the ever-reliable sandal to their office-friendly heels, you can bet that in Melissa shoes, you can pretty much do anything.

Resolution No. 4: Just because unicorns aren’t real, doesn’t mean I can’t look like one.

community of makeup-loving folks out there in search of an entirely different look. J.
