Five early holiday season treats to get you through November

Five early holiday season treats to get you through November

Have yourself a cheery pre-Christmas.

Scorpio season is in full gear folks, and you know what that means: We all need a little something to keep us busy lest we all crumble from restlessness. It’s always a good idea to get a head start on your Christmas shopping, so we’ve got a few ideas for gifting season. If that’s not enough to keep you satiated, maybe take a trip to the beach wrapped in recycled plastic towels? But if you’d rather stay wrapped and snuggled at home, a Netflix recommendation awaits. Anyway, enough blabbering and more recommending: Here’s what we’re obsessing over this November.

SORA x Chi Gibbs

What’s a better way to showcase a collection of beach towels than to photograph them on a beach? Rhetorical questions aside, the sustainable beach towel brand SORA (which makes their towels from recycled plastic) has collaborated with Neon Island’s Chi Gibbs on a collection titled “Venice.” Taking inspiration from “the colors and shapes of Palm Springs and mid-century architecture,” the collection features hues of aquamarine, peach, pink, and orange, in whimsical plant shapes and patterns. The collection is out now on

Halo Halo tote bags

Who doesn’t love a tote bag? We at YS subscribe heavily to the #ToteLife, so naturally, it was a joy to find out that our favorite banig bag maker Halo Halo recently came out with a pair of totes: A regular sized one and an adorable petite one. Embroidered with caricatures of their famous bulsa bag with the words “pinaghalo-halo” below, they are, as any tote is, perfect for toting around as eco bags, lunch bags, or as your everywhere-everyday-everything bag. Pose Season 2

Okay, I know it’s been a while since Pose season 2 premiered, but it’s now on Netflix, which means you can watch it through, ehem, legal means. The show’s second season kicks off in 1990, two years after the end of season 1 — it’s now the time of Madonna’s Vogue and the beginning of the supermodel era. So brace yourself for some more fashion, dahhhling; “model effect realness” care of Angel, and of course, buckets and buckets of tears. Stream the second season of Pose on

Ride For Smiles

Getting on the stationary bike is definitely a good way of getting rid of all that restless energy, and this month, Electric Studio is letting you donate to charity while doing it. In partnership with Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft charity, Electric Studio is bringing back their Ride for Smiles Challenge, where riders who commit to completing 10, 15, or 20 rides throughout the month will count towards a donation. Elise on Netflix

The movie Elise is truly one of the best rom-coms of recent memory, and you can fight me on that. If you didn’t catch it during its theatrical run, now’s your chance because it recently started streaming on Netflix. Starring Janine Gutierrez and Enchong Dee, it tells the story of two childhood friends who by chance meet again later. There’s lots of nostalgia care of the film’s setting and a healthy serving of humor and romance, but brace yourself because it’s a whole lot more than that. As they say about good love stories: beautiful and devastating. Stream Elise on
